Many anaerobic- as well as many micro-aerophilic organisms can be incubated with the standard recipes incorporated in the Anoxomat, (respectively with 0% and with 6% of oxygen) with the generally used gas mixture. (80% Nitrogen, 10% Hydrogen and 10% Carbon dioxide) Please find hereafter the resulting gas mixture in the jar.

However, many laboratories wish to optimize growth conditions, or wish to test certain atmospheric conditions in each separate jar, by varying Oxygen, Carbon dioxide and Hydrogen levels. This is possible with some of the Anoxomat models.
