Mart Jars
Who wants to cultivate oxygen-sensitive microorganisms in an oxygen-depleted atmosphere often uses an anaerobic jar. Unfortunately many brands are present on the markets, which are of weak construction, and often not airtight, especially after they get older.

Mart Microbiology BV, designed their jars to cope with these weaknesses. Due to the choice of the basic material, the overall solid construction and the jar-lid-clamp construction, the Mart Jar satisfies the highest quality requirements, mechanical as well as microbiological, and guarantees a longer life than most competitive brands.

Polymethylmethacrylaat, PMMA in short, has an extremely smooth surface and is shock or impact resistant. The maximum temperature it can stand lies at ? 80?C, and it should never be exposed to alcohol.

Jar and lid are both transparent, a unique feature for anaerobic jars. A furrow in the lid falls over a brim on the jar, thus centering the lid perfectly, avoiding any undue leakage. The sealing between lid and jar is an excellent quality rubber O-ring.

With the white-coated stainless steel clamp, the lid can be tightened on the jar. The clamping wheel can be screwed down just finger-tight. This is enough to guarantee a perfect seal between lid, the O-ring and the jar. It assures that the jar is hermetically closed during over-pressure and under-pressure and eliminates any diffusion.

On the jar there is a coupling, enabling quick connection to the Anoxomat System, with one swift move. After processing the jar, it can easily be disconnected. The coupling guarantees absolute closure during incubation.

On the bottom of the lid, one or more catalyst-clips are mounted. The catalysts (if used) easily slide under these clips, so they won't interfere with the handling of the Petri dishes.

Mart Petri dish holders
To facilitate the handling of the Petri dishes, holders are available. With each jar one or more corresponding Petri dish holders can be supplied, for regular Petri dish sizes and even for micro-titter plates. The holders are made of autoclavable stainless steel.
